in 2008 i got a terrible ear infection in my right ear that somehow inexplicably found itself in my left ear as well. having no insurance, i had to instead go to the local hippie whole-foods-type grocery store and picked up a bottle of garlic ear-drops, because apparently garlic kills not only vampires, but ear infections too. i spent about a month putting that shit in my ears, to what seemed like no avail. my ears still hurt and to add insult to injury i smelled like a bread basket in an italian restaurant for what seemed like forever. but eventually the infection went away, of its own volition or as a result of the garlic drops...i'll never know for certain.
what i do know is that four years later, when i clean my ears with a q-tip, i catch a whiff of garlic.
my earwax is garlic scented. perhaps forever.
